Abstract: This article shows the results of a regulatory research with emphasis in Non-Conventional Sources of Renewable Energy (NCSRE) applied to Non-Interconnected Zones (NIZ). As main referents of consultation, the websites of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MINENERGIA), the Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions for Non-Interconnected Zones (IPSE), the Energy Mining Planning Unit (UPME), the Regulatory Commission of Energy and Gas (CREG), and the Fund for Non-Conventional Energies and Efficient Energy Management (FENOGE). This document focuses in presenting a general description of those institutions that have a strong participation in the NIZ and the promotion and development of renewable energies in Colombia
